TOMI NO OKA WINERY (SUNTORY)

To take full advantage of Yamanashi’s superb wine-producing terroir, Tomi no oka Winery uses grapes from its own vineyards growin in carefully prepared soil. It carefully manages every stage in a fully integrated winemaking process, from growing the grapes to bottling. Its goal is the highest quality wine filled with the unique characteristics of the region, wine that fully embodies an elegant harmony between terroir and humanity, and its winemakers’ skill, passion, and long experience contribute to making these some of the most consistently excellent wines in Japan. The Tomi no oka wine style is “supple and quietly gallant.” Like the Japanese kimono, it has a simple beauty filled to its depths with a grace both spiritual and physical. It epitomizes Japanese wine. It both complements food and offers hours of pleasure to those who drink it.
